    Oh, the humanity!
  • C.C. aka LorelaiCC · 1 year ago
OMG! That was definitely worth me sitting here waiting instead of going to bed like I had planned until I saw your tweet that you were uploading this and I just had to sit here and wait for it. I've been stalking your site for the last ten minutes waiting for you to get it uploaded. And....it was worth it! LOL!
  • jr · 1 year ago
    haha that video is awesome!
  • inworship · 1 year ago
    Holy Crap!

I shed a tear. Both from be mortified for the Mac and from laughing at the video. Noce!
  • Shannon Smith · 1 year ago
    It's almost unbearable.

I like the use of the imovie sounds and the stop motion.
  • Stacey · 1 year ago
Amen. (My mouth dropped like a melting popsicle on a summer day)
  • Jason · 1 year ago
Word up . . . stopping the worship can't save the computer now . . . Rock on for Jesus . . . that is what sets you guys apart from others who would have called time out and started the song over after re:grouping.
  • Crystal Renaud · 1 year ago
    when's the funeral?
  • Ted · 1 year ago
So, what happened to the mac?
  • Meghan · 1 year ago
Oh no. Poor Danny. That was hysterical. And yet SO painful to watch.

    Wow...
  • portorikan · 1 year ago
I almost cried. I almost cried.
  • Brad Ruggles · 1 year ago
Great video. Hard to watch. Funny...and painful. :-)

Its like a car wreck.... you want to look away.... avert your eyes... but you can't I won't be able to sleep tonight.. the horror.
  • Derrick Henslee · 1 year ago
That there was one of the saddest mishaps I've ever encountered. Two weeks ago, my bass player's bass fell off the stage...luckily a sheet of spandex broke its fall. Was there a sheet of spandex below the MBP? I sure hope so.
  • Tim · 1 year ago
    NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

That is painful. I wish Mac would consider a toughbook in their line. I've seen one of those run over by an ambulance and still work.
  • Chris Baker · 1 year ago
I almost cried too..if that would happen to me...I'd be wrecked...

I'm curious...is it still working? If it does..that would be rockin'
  • alex mclean · 1 year ago
I think I could deal with a busted mbp, but what about the loops or sounds or pads or whatever was running out of it? was there a click on there? transitions? ouch! ouch! ouch! nice video man a great way to end a sunday night
  • Steve Murphy · 1 year ago
Equal parts panic, disbelief, and sympathy.

How is Danny? How is the Mac???
  • Paul Brown · 1 year ago
Wow, I was at that service and I didn't catch it. I guess that's a good sign he played the next chord well.

    Is the Mac okay?
  • The Secret Life of Kat · 1 year ago
    (Gasp) Did it....survive?
  • cdenning · 1 year ago
    thats a deep hurt
  • ruthie o. · 1 year ago
I think that is the best video EVER! I did cry a little bit (well a lot) for the computer.
  • Angel · 1 year ago
Ok I definitely felt the pain while watching that computer fall over and over!!
  • Marvin Nelson · 1 year ago
did the mac make it through? it was funny, but not if the mac died..that's mortifying
  • D-Whitt · 1 year ago
The sad thing is that was number 2 in 2 months time.
IT is going to love us! I have a feeling we'll be finding a new stand this week....
  • Derek Sweatman · 1 year ago
absolutely brilliant, los. the sesame street happy-clappy ending was boss. loved it.

  • rebeccamoon · 1 year ago
Did the Mac have worker's comp?

My 12" G4 suffered a fall like that...I sat in the floor and cried. She still works, but she's on permanent disability because there's a big dent in the entrance to her disk drive. She was succeeded by a 15" MBP...who wears a polyurethane case.
  • Nick · 1 year ago
    Great video!
  • Todd W · 1 year ago
It's moments like this that make reviewing tape after the service SOOOOO worth it!!
  • Dottie H · 1 year ago
I have a similar setup. I cut a board to put on my stand. It makes it a little more stable. However, now I am thinking of strapping mine down and possibly hiring someone to stand close by.
  • Akash · 1 year ago
    Was that at the six?
  • B Weave · 1 year ago
I was there, saw it happen. Danny is a trooper. He played that next chord without a moment's hesitation! My HERO!
  • gary · 1 year ago
This is why I love this blog. Amazing.
  • Rich S. · 1 year ago
What a perfect picture of perseverance. (Oh, the alliteration!). This video (and Danny's reaction to the situation) is a picture of his whole life right now. More power to him for playing through!

I almost just spit out my raspberry mocha on to my mac (that would have sucked)...however, it might have made for a nice sequel to this video.
  • Adam Hann · 1 year ago
Ouch! We've had that happen before, now the computer gets firmly taped onto the keyboard stand when being used.

I saw that in person. Yes Danny played the next chord. But what was the deal with the neon lights coming on twice during Andy's message? That was random too.
  • phillip · 1 year ago
Dude, what is that music? It's on the tip of my brain - it's from a movie and it plays on a DVD menu or something...
  • Joshua · 1 year ago
question is- did the worship min have to fork out 3 grand for a new macbook pro or is it ok?
  • Ron Johns · 1 year ago
I use a similar setup at our church. In fact - this has almost happened to me when I used a laptop stand attached to the keyboard stand so I use a seperate stand, and I keep my MacBook Pro in a spek case. Is that keyboard a CME VX series? If so, it's the first time I've seen someone else besides me use it live. Was he using Main Stage?
  • jonese · 1 year ago
Ouch! But i have to say i'm still waiting for the lovely "feedback" video from the 6pm service.... "uh....that's MY phone" HAHAHAHA!
  • Dan (djByron) · 1 year ago
    AARRRRGGGGHHHHH!
Maybe this will cause somebody to invent the iClamp ?
  • Danny Stephens · 1 year ago
It's me. 'Los, that video is amazing! I laughed my butt off. Fret not, my friends. Miraculously, and to the glory of God, my Mac is alive! It shouldn't be, but it is. Typing on it right now. I'm glad to have provided an example of an age old rock 'n' roll principle: you don't stop playing, baby! You don't stop unless you're dead! I've actually tipped over whole keyboard stands and watched them crash; you just move on to another keyboard!
Thank you all for the love! I'm good to go.
  • Stephanie · 1 year ago
That was painful. It felt like my heart was being ripped from my chest. Glad all is well.
  • Danny Stephens · 1 year ago
By the way, Ron, the red keyboard is a Nord Electro and the Mac was running Pro Tools. Have been using that setup for years and it's the first time I've ever had a laptop fall. And the last! I'll be using tape, bungee cords, or superglue next time!
  • Aaron Blevins · 1 year ago
Yep, I was on the second row with 4 other guys. I think every single one of us cringed when it happened. BUT, he held it together perfectly. He didn't even look distracted.
  • Ron Johns · 1 year ago
Wow - great setup! Them Nords aren't cheap. I cannot believe your MB Pro came away unscathed! That is an absolute miracle! From the video, it looks like you're using a 17" which I've heard the display is the first to go in a fall like that. I'm very happy for you, and it brings me comfort in knowing that mine could potentially survive a fall like that. If you ever have a chance, you should check out Main Stage by Apple - it's bundled with Logic Studio: http://www.apple.com/logicstudio/mainstage/
I've been using it live now for about 5 months, and I love it!
  • Danny Stephens · 1 year ago
That's a good word, Ron. Thanks. I'll check it out.
  • Jeff McQ · 1 year ago
Thoroughly entertaining. I felt it. I felt it. In my gut.

    Snicker.
  • Jad · 1 year ago
    Horrifying!

I think you should do a post with your most horrifying moments on stage.

During easter at crosspoint in Nashville, our click track went from 90 bpm down to about 50 bpm during the special which was sync'd to a video. I was playing percussion and it was a nightmare. The song ALMOST dropped out.

    Traumatic, truly traumatic.
  • Tstaires · 1 year ago
Absolutely incredible! If that happened to me I would rejoice because that afternoon there would be a new MBP on the way. And next chord... it would be even better than the last.
  • Devon Groner · 1 year ago
Dude I love your style. I cried. I laughed. I cried some more. That hurt SO much but I could not help cracking up at the same time. I just got one question... how is that poor mac? Please tell me she is alright.
  • Danny Stephens · 1 year ago
The Mac is fine, though I'm emotionally scarred!
  • jenn · 1 year ago
You just crack me up! :o) But my stomch did turn as the lap top fell. I hope Mac is okay!
  • Crystal Renaud · 1 year ago
i think you need to tell us how she's doing.
  • brizzle · 1 year ago
Why does it say "Sorry, video is no longer available" when I click it?
  • Chadwick · 1 year ago
That was truely like the car wreck you just don't want to watch but you just can't help it.

    And the beat goes on...
  • Amy Beth @ Ministry So Fabulou · 1 year ago
Los, you totally look like your wife in one of those screen shots. I mean that in a good way, of course.
  • Rhi · 1 year ago
    you are so silly sometimes.
  • Mr. Police Man · 1 year ago
NICE. Is his "Director" going to by him a new computer stand now?
  • Kyle · 1 year ago
So, I'm a little new to this whole thing and I'm just wondering what the laptop is used for on stage? I've seen it done quite a bit lately but have never quite worked out exactly what's going on with it. Glad to hear it survived, though.
  • wonderingwoman · 1 year ago
that was the best video ever...and the worst. i laughed, i cried...rip macbookpro.
  • Wood · 1 year ago
Lost in much of the posts is the life message. When things go bad, we can either stop, freak out, or, we can play the next chord. He who is in control will take care of the rest....thanks Los, for a great, simple message
