I just so happened to want to visit your blog (usually I just hit up my RSS reader) to find this! I'm stoked to finally see the secret revealed!
It's awesome to know that huge rockstars and Hollywood actors don't have to do something for the world to take note. Just a handful of bloggers and their communities should be enough to shine some light and spread some joy around, yeah? Can't wait to hear more about how we can help!

I'm so excited for you guys.
When you said wrecked.. it reminded me of Lost. It would suck if you guys crashed on a deserted island.. who's blogs would I read? Unless there was a tv show... now that'd be cool.

Nice. This IS big. Compassion International is a great organiztion and it's awesome to hear that they are working outside the box to find new ways to bring the plights of these children to light.
My wife and I sponsored a young boy in Indonesia through them for quite some time and continue to hold him up in prayer. It was as great an experience for us as it was a help for him.
Thank you and good luck with this - we'll be watching to see how it pans out.

you are absolutely right: you very likely will be wrecked and rebuilt through this experience. it happened for me on a trip with 11 others to india last july.

My hands are shaking at the thought. And someday, I would LOVE to do this. I thought to myself a few weeks ago, "If I could quit my job, travel and write for a living...I'd be happy."
Not that I'm not happy now, just on a different level. Working toward the dream while living part of it, I suppose. :)

Awesome - Uganda is very close to my heart. We sponsor two kids there and are very involved with a ministry near Kampala. I can't wait to see what comes of this.

I noticed that the Compassion URL in the original post is not correct. The correct URL is http://www.compassion.com. Or, you can visit http://www.compassion.com/sponsor_a_Child/default to view photos of children waiting for a sponsor. You can even search for a child by age, gender, country, birthday, special needs and much more!

We are going to Swaziland Africa this Summer to work with Children's Cup International Relief Organization(childrenscup.org)we have never been there but we have a heart for that country and also hope to adopt from their soon.

This is awesome. We have sponsored children through Compassion for many years. They are the best organization of their kind because they are Christ-centered and have the lowest overhaed cost. I'll look forward hearing about your trip.

i went with Compassion to Peru back in November, and it rocked my world. i'm on my way back from doing photography in Ethiopia this week, and that too rocked my world. i can't wait to see what God will continue to do through the blogworld to bring about change. drink lots of coffee...it kicks major ace over there!

I participated in Displace Me and I love how much the church is stepping up to help Uganda.
Remember, the pressures on, you represent us all. We bloggers are known for saying to much and prostituting our lives for stats but you guys can show the world that we really just want to Rock the world for Jesus.
We are behind you all and yes, I think I can speak for the blogging world when I say that.
The really great thing is, when our new son Abel arrives from Ethiopia I can introduce him to your blog, show him your adoption story, show him how all you bloggers went to Africa to help and I hope it encourages him about his Continent, gives him hope for the other orphans over there.
