Amazing worship and a huge vision to reach the city. What an inspiring night. Thanks for sharing it with us.
  • Sully · 1 year ago
I watched and it was all amazing. The first time I have ever seen or experienced a worship song in Spanish. I thought it was great.
  • Rhys · 1 year ago
I was watching from Sanibel Island on vacation. I was just blown away by the unity this service brought. It made me just think of where the Church, big C, really can go with the Lord leading. My favorite part though was definitely the last like 3 songs of the service. Those are my all time favs and have been on my heart recently. God is so good!
  • Josh Lane · 1 year ago
absolutely awesome night man...i was watching via web, but wish that i could have been there in person. one question, who wrote the glory to god song...where can i find it?
  • Bobby Jones · 1 year ago
Amazing beginning! "Hungry" was such a great way to focus all of our minds attention and hearts affections on Jesus tonight! Hungry & broken, I come! Thanks for the Night of Worship. I will be praying for BMP!

I was rehearsing at Saint Simons Community Church tonight. About halfway through, I looked over and my wife was sitting at the edge of the stage with her laptop watching you lead. She told me that To Know Your Name was her favorite. I wish I could have watched it myself.

I did catch some of The Stand. I've heard that called "the money song" for good reason. That song just rocks from beginning to end. You guys demonstrate a spirit of excellence for sure.

I would have really dug the Spanish song too. Kudos to NPCC for moving in that direction with the 12:45 service. If I were proficient in Spanish, I would jump on that opportunity in a heartbeat.
  • Michelle · 1 year ago
We were watching it from South Carolina with my hubby's macbook hooked up to the TV and sound. It was awesome. My fav. part of the night was watching my 2 and 4 year olds danc around the living room with their arms raised. Then rush off to get maracas to shake with the music. Loved being able to make it a family event for us. Thanks for sharing. What an incredible vision!
  • Nathan Wright · 1 year ago
i was there and felt like the whole thing was planned out, but it was obvious that y'all went where the spirit was leading.

i really loved the energy the filled the room when sean did all because in spanish...that fired everyone up and just escalated the worship experience. Jesus paid it all and the stand were pretty rockin too...

amazing night. exactly what my heart needed...thank you.
  • shawn elledge · 1 year ago
I was there. I took a couple of TwitPics from my spot in the balcony. My favorite parts was prayer/communion & fav songs were the Spanish song and the new song about "His love for people underserving"!
  • Michelle · 1 year ago
watched it online. I dug the Spanish singing of "All Because of Jesus"
  • Steve · 1 year ago
I was there, and there was no single favorite part. It just kept getting better and better as the night went on. What an incredible experience.
  • D-Whitt · 1 year ago
I was there making it all sound pretty(I hope). It was awesome to see God show up and hear his people respond! I'm hungry for more and I think our people are too. Thanks for your leadership Carlos!

I was there with my staff from Northbridge church in Pittsburgh. My favorite part was sharing communion with my friends.
  • Amber Nolen · 1 year ago
Night of Worship AWESOME! God moved! Thank you for praying for the partnerships (Auburn). I can not wait to see what will be done in ATL. It is an awesome idea and we are thinking of how it can be done in Auburn. What type of songs are you playing at BMP? Also, will the spanish version of that song be available for purchase? THANKS again!
  • Gerald · 1 year ago
totally missed the whole thing! where can I see it??
  • Morgan · 1 year ago
I was there! It was awesome! Fav part...the very first note of the very first song.
  • kc · 1 year ago
unfortunately I was only able to see the 1st 30 minutes before I had to get on the road but what I saw makes me jealous that I couldn't be there or watch the whole thing. It sounds like I need to get myself prepared for a new chpt for BCC. Thanks for what yall have done
  • kristicw · 1 year ago
Had it open on my Mac here in Oregon while I hid myself away from the kids! I was blown away by the international community that was together in worship online. What a very cool way to see the church around the world as one.
  • Brian · 1 year ago
Great job to the team leading us tonight. I felt like it was a place to unleash and go for it, and that's exactly what I was able to do. So...why aren't we doing this every week? ;)
  • Akash · 1 year ago
I was there. It was great. The best part was the stuff God taught me.

The space between the crowd and the stage definitely got smaller.

I saw more authenticity in the crowd - especially in me.
  • Jeff · 1 year ago
I was there, my favorite parts were the times when the lyrics reflected what was in my heart, esp during "Sweetest Mystery", "Lift High" and "Glory to God". Also loved "All because of Jesus" en Espanol!
  • Toby · 1 year ago
I was there until 3am Germany time. It's 7am now and I'm up and ready to go. God gives us what we need and I needed that experience last night! Thanks Buckhead!!
  • Joey · 1 year ago
This night had complete mixed emotions for me. The service its self was stunning and brilliant on so many levels. Spirit-led communion was a first for me and brought a whole new meaning to it.
The sad part was knowing that the church I work for will never stretch themselves to this level. There are too many ties to preferences and so many closed minds - although they see themselves otherwise.
Thank you for the experience - it will make my "top 5" spiritual moments list - and we may have to slide out in time to make it to BHC one sunday a month.

arrived late, couldn't find a parking spot... went home...
  • Loran · 1 year ago
I watched online from Seattle. Got in late...so only saw last half....(will whole thing be posted)?
    Favorite parts:
All because of Jesus in Spanish
Shout out to the 2 little girls up front representin
Being able to share my prayer request...I was in need.

    Thanks
  • mr. ruckus · 1 year ago
you guys should probably do this at least twice a month... it ruled!
  • Frances · 1 year ago
    Hey Carlos,
I was there. It was wonderful, great, awesome, powerful. I have never felt God's presence and the Holy Spirit at Buckhead like that before. It was crazy good:) My favorite part, "All Because of Jesus in English and Spanish. It was double powerful for me. Gracias y Thank You:)
I would love to see the whole think again. Any chance?
  • Greg · 1 year ago
I was there and was SO HAPPY to hear the congregation singing out! It seemed people were really stoked (myself included) about Seth singing in spanish. Looking forward to the BMP!
  • Kristy · 1 year ago
Awesome Carlos. My husband and I probably wouldn't have been there if you weren't twittering about it every 30 minutes. Of course the music was incredible but some other things I thought were powerful: Jeff leading off 5 minutes of prayer. That's a long time for a giant crowd to be quiet and pray. And when you asked the crowd to take your worship one step further, because I did.
  • Chris Green · 1 year ago
the Night of Worship was another step for me in understanding that worship isn't what happens during the music portion of a service, but what happens in our hearts every minute of every day. It was a big stepping stone for me, and struck up an amazing bedtime conversation with my wife about growing deeper in our faiths...together. Thanks to those who have been praying that BC would see God clearly last night. He came and we responded.
  • Adam Hann · 1 year ago
I was watching. It was cool. I really like what you guys are doing with the bar/cub scene. That's very cool.
  • Jam · 1 year ago
Last night was the first time, in a long time, I truly surrendered and let the Spirit surround me. I was lifting both hands as high as I could. I wanted to keep reaching and reaching. Looking around at everyone worshipping, singing and dancing was so inspiring.

I've never felt energy like that in our church. I couldn't stop smiling. I agree with others, when Seth came out and did, "All Because of Jesus," in Espanol the energy rose higher.

I'm excited to see what happens through BMP and hope I can help in some way. Keep it up!
  • adam · 1 year ago
my wife and i were there.. it was a good time.

i was sitting near the front and enjoyed looking back at all the raised hands. God wins!

After the first 30 minutes, Night of Worship was AWESOME!!!

FAVORITE PARTS: 1.Communion 2.'All Because of Jesus' in Spanish... Though I speak Portuguese, it totally rocked!!!

WORSE PARTS: Let me know when you will be doing these 'cause I have one.
  • Andy McMahon · 1 year ago
I was there. It was wonderful. Absolutely wonderful. It was just..... wow... You guys have a pretty cool thing going on there...

    Keep it up Carlos.

    Los,
I was leading our rehearsal, so my only interaction was the envy I felt as LeslieBrooke was watching it out in the seats on her MacBook.

Will this be archived somewhere for later viewing? I'd really love the opportunity to see what happened and take part in it "after the fact".

I was there. It was awesome!

I'm used to worshipping like that at my home church in another country, but since I've come to Buckhead I sometimes feel self-conscious when I lift my hands or dance.

Last night there were no holds barred. The Stand and Broken People were my two favorites. The entire place had their hands raised towards heaven to give God glory.
I'm sure God was pleased with our worship.

Also, it was my first time taking communion at Buckhead. I was moved to tears by the presence of the Holy Spirit.

I was sick last night so I was able to watch it online. It was awesome! My favorite songs were the whole second set! I've been singing God of this City all night and all morning. I always love Lift High, The Stand, and Jesus Paid It All--we haven't sung that one in awhile.

My favorite parts of the evening were the announcement of the BMP, the prayer, and when the camera panned out to the crowd and I could see people lifting their hands right in front of the stage! I could see people jumping and heard people singing. That was probably the one image I remember most in my head. I wish I could have been there in person.

I left the live feed on as my wife and I went to go run at the track (it hadn't started yet). But when we came home we opened our door to some great music filling our house (kind of spooked us because I forgot I left it on).

When we figured it out, it was a laugh. We watched the rest together and enjoyed the Spanish (All Because of Jesus). We don't speak fluently but my wife is a Speech Language Pathologist and works with a LOT of spanish speaking children, so she is working on her Spanish.

    Anyways, great night!
  • Lauren · 1 year ago
I was there and at one point when I looked around me and in front of me from my vantage point in the back and I think nearly every hand was in the air with praise. It felt like a tiny glimpse of heaven.
  • bub · 1 year ago
I caught the last 40 minutes or so on the net. I'm in San Diego. It was absolutely marvelous. Like most everyone else, I really loved the spanish version of "All Because of Jesus". My wife is Mexican-American and she came over to the computer and listened with me. We both ended up singing along for the rest of the worship service. The REAL awesome moment for me was when the camera panned towards the crowd. WOW! Seeing all those people worshipping and singing was very moving. Unfortunately, I think some dust got into my eye at that point as I felt some drops falling from my eyes. Darn dusty house! Thanks for the live feed, really felt the presence of God in your room and my room.

I watched as much as I could while rebooking flights for family dealing with the NYC rain delays. I enjoyed counting how many times the one dude said "bars, clubs and venues." It was UH-lot. Otherwise, fabulous!!!

I was there. Amazing -- so many people from so many places united in worship...
  • Marcus · 1 year ago
No question, the most breath-stealing worship experience I've had on any NPPC property. Our hope is that this becomes common place @ Buckhead Church. Apart from just drowning in the Spirit, it was amazing near the end (no idea what song as the last set was a blur) to look back from the front and see almost every hand raised to the Father. It truly beats the 17 hands I see on Sunday (yes, mine are down too).

As I mentioned to you after the close, the service was a great finish to celebrating our 9th anniversary. We got home and I surprised Tracy with a print called Spirit Revealed. It and came from a collection of art done in response to the Starting Point group study that we had seen in the NPPC hallways. The Spirit was definitely Revealed last night. @Marcus, @kim, and a few others ...
(los, not trying to hijack the blog here, but I'm truly interested in answering this question, not just for Buckhead but for SSCC) ...

In multiple comments I've seen where people really were engaged at this event in physical responses in worship (ie. hands raised, singing, etc) ... and that on Sunday, it's not that way ...

I'm living out the same thing ... recently wrote a 2-3 day blog series called "I Thought I Was *SUPPOSED* To Sing" ... after my experience "off-platform" on Sunday showed me how few people really get engaged.

I've got a "night of worship" planned for Sunday PM, Sept 7 down here on St. Simons island, and I'm hoping to see the same thing ... but .. I long to see it where we can be this free on Sunday AM's ...

Why aren't we? Anyone got any ideas?

    @Fred-

I usually have my hands raised on Sunday mornings but when I look around I notice that not that many others do. I have to remind myself that the praise is unto God and not unto man.

I think what Carlos did last night was great - He invited people to take the next step. I suppose that for some who are not used to a church environment and are not sure of why we raise hands, the whole process might seem strange. Explaining it in that type of environment might help them to be more open during the service on Sundays or in private devotional time.

    Just my two cents...

    Hey bub,
I guess it was dusty at Buckhead church, too. I had dust in my eyes during most of the songs!
  • Emily · 1 year ago
I was watching from Colombia. I can't even watch the Olympics online, but I could see Buckhead and I got to worship in English for the first time in a year.
  • erika chapman · 1 year ago
Watched from Florence, Sc with the computer hooked up to the tv. My favorite were the last three songs but favorite, favorite was also watching my 2 year old dance and raise his hands to the music. Such a blessed family time. His grandparetns and uncle were onsite with you worshiping. So fun to worship together from afar.

Our sweet newborn kept us from attending, but Mike (hubby) was sweet to take care of her so I could watch a lot of it. My favorite part by far was the same as many here - the Spanish rendition of "All Because of Jesus." For YEARS I've been praying and waiting for NPM to embrace our Spanish-speaking brothers and sisters; I'm so glad that time is here! If Mike weren't on staff at BC, we'd be at NP serving during the Spanish service - love it!! Second favorite moment was "Glory to God."

    Gloria a Dios!

@kim I think you are on to something there ... I hope this will be archived online somewhere .. I'd love to see how Carlos taught them through, and "exhorted"them (to use a churchy word) to step it up to the next level.

i was SO incredibly moved during the service. it's still hard for me to put the experience into words, but i will just say that the "individual" communion was absolutely perfect. thank you. thank you so much for such a powerful encounter with God.
