Los, what kind of iPhone case are you rocking there? I need to get one for mine.
  • steadyrock · 2 years ago
It's NBD bro. Man up and take the pain for a few days, the results are well worth it. Just be sure to follow the post-op and re-check instructions VERY conservatively and you should be fine. Remember, a comfy sofa and two bags of frozen peas (one for the freezer while the other is in use) are your friends. See if you can schedule it during Shark Week! (I had a Futureweapons marathon on during my recovery weekend, it was awesome)

My boys just retreated a little when I read that.

Your boys have to go to school first before they can be executed? Talk about bad times becoming worse!

A close friend of our had that done last summer...he had complications, something about a hematoma and swelling up like grapefruits. Don't mean to scare you or anything...

A class to get clipped? In my day, they just hooked a battery cable to each one, hit the juice, and you were good to go.

There's a CLASS?!?! Great. Now I'm NEVER going to get Josh to do it and we'll have 49689087 kids.

During my husbands class the tape broke 3 times. He said it was a sign to not get it done. But he got it done anyways. If he can do it (no pain tolerance) anyone can. :)

Each of my two brothers have a post vas baby and both have had to get the procedure redone. Those post procedure sperm counts are important for a reason.

    It's a piece of cake...

A piece of cake frosted with barely being able to walk, your nuts turning black, and exposing yourself in the most vulnerable of ways to a doctors office...

    don't forget to shave...

i thought i had planned mine out pretty good, but mis-calculated. i had mine done on a friday morning, and then took a bunch of students to camp. I thought all i was doing was playing one song in the mornings and then full worship sets in the evenings. I ended up getting roped into being the videographer for the week. I was playing full-court ball by monday (probably not the best idea) ... i'm better now.

my doc told me a story of a guy whose left one swelled up like a softball. he was a cop who thought he would just sit in his patrol car all day, and ended up in a foot chase.

my only request of my doc was that i didn't know what i was doing (er, what HE was doing) while it was being done. he told me to drink a sixer 30 minutes before my appointment. my wife didn't like that idea, so he gave me some pills and WOW, those were awesome! so awesome that he and i CHATTED about ... uh ... well, i really don't remember what we talked about. now, where are those pills? =)

Mine was horrible. H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E. Done right there at Kaiser; where you're heading.

Long story short. They tell you to be careful about doing anything strenuous for awhile afterwards. They are not kidding.

I ended up in the emergency room w/ black (not purple, black) grapefruit nut action. The nurse thought I was just some whining pansy, then she pulled the sheet back and dropped a "GASP!".

She called in everyone else in the freakin' ER to look at my junk. All I heard was "ooh... dang... geez...wow...".

Then Dr. Death comes in and wants to check to see if I have a hernia; so he stands me up and starts grabbing and pulling stuff. I straight passed out in a heap on the floor; they had to pick me up and dump me back on the gurney.

Ended up in bed for a week afterwards, and had pain for A YEAR.

    But.. the benefits... are nice.

I'm going to have to wait another 90 days since I just got a new job.

When did they start having classes for the big V? I watched my husbands procedure. It was very interesting. I won't tell you what happened after the fire alarm went off during the delicate operation. But I will tell you that bags of peas are a must, and if you can handle the process for picking up your son from Korea then you can easily handle a couple of days of discomfort.

Everyone seems to be wondering why there is a class, as am I. So I have to ask, is it a how-to course? Are you going to do it yourself? Do they give you a kit?

I presume the procedure will appear here on your blog. I think I may tune out for a while until it's safe again, so let us know. Some confessionals are better left unwatched.

Dude, after reading all those comments, it just re-enforces the idea that I would rather have 18 kids and no money than do that. End of story. We get our pets fixed, not dad.

Here's hoping for the best for ya. Now I got to go find a way to get all those images out of my head!

It is all GEWD, some of the best times are just on the other side of the Big V and I don't mean Venezuela.

As for the little bee sting, yeah "Not So Much."
  • klampert · 2 years ago
Im gonna have to do the same soon with our 3rd on the way..

seems there is a noscalpel version now...in and out in 10 minutes with no scar
  • tunz · 2 years ago
Will Heather be taping it? I mean videotaping the procedure, you goof.
  • Denise C. · 2 years ago
Ok. So wait. There are lots of men who have post vas babies? That is sooooo not cool. The Man never went back to Kaiser to get his sample checked out. It's been nine months now, hopefully we are in the clear. But geez, talk about giving a sister heart pains!!
