Ragamuffin Soul: Ragamuffin Soul »  Fashion or Fleece?

  • Robin · 2 years ago
    Fleece.

A warm, slightly cheesy, cowboy is much better than a frost-bitten LA Rocker.

    :-) Don't freeze Los.
  • shan · 2 years ago
fleece for sure...but that's coming from a girl who's cold when it's below 70*...also, make sure your car has anti-freeze in it.
  • Jesse Holden · 2 years ago
Los, dude, seriously....you can rock the fleece. It's not cowboy, it's more prep than anything. Suggestion, stick with the Columbia, but go with a half-zip and a darker color....BAM! So Cal meets the ATL.
  • Todd · 2 years ago
Why must it be fleece? Have you not a leather or wool jacket?
  • Greg · 2 years ago
fleece, with the half zip. that is the look.
  • pitt · 2 years ago
put holes in it to make it look "designer" then you'll be money.
  • Tyler Braun · 2 years ago
Fleece. Just take it off when you are inside. It is the best of both worlds.
  • Russ · 2 years ago
Since when did fleece = cowboy?

I live in South Georgia, and contrary to popular belief, there aren't a lot of cowboys running around here.

P.S. leather is the timeless "cowboy" look.
  • Josh Young · 2 years ago
    Fashion inside.
    Fleece outside.

Better yet, you could get a different coat.

Regardless, outside, fleece beats fashion. Being sick sucks.
  • Phillip McCart · 2 years ago
Come on. Why hasn't anyone said this already? One word...hoodie! Go LA skate before you go fleece.
  • Brooke · 2 years ago
I vote fleece only because I HATE being cold. You can't beat the comfort of the fleece either, even if people think it's a fashion faux pas. Who cares what they think, I gotta be warm.
  • John · 2 years ago
Neither. Go with a track jacket when it's cold. Keeps me warm in OK at temps my CA body isn't used to either.
  • Patty B! · 2 years ago
Janie says you're vain - because it's freaking cold and you won't wear a jacket. "If you're cold wear a jacket - it's not rocket science!!"

    Love, Janie and Patty B!
  • Daley Hake · 2 years ago
if I was awake...I would'nt have allowed you to leave the house in fleece
  • Abs · 2 years ago
Please.... no fleece...it would just hurt my heart to know that you've gone over to the southern dark side. I say this knowing that I have been on the dark side since birth and can't seem to extract myself...so, for the love of all that is holy...don't do fleece.
  • loswhit · 2 years ago
    HA!!!
For the first 10 or so of you. Thank you for having my health in mind.
For Patty and Janie, come on...When have I fallen into the rocket science category? You two know I spit cookies out of my mouth when I I eat them on weigh in days.
    Daley, Thank you sir.
Abs, I think I am with you. My nipples will freeze before I go to the dark side.
    Smuggling raisins,
    Los
  • Russ · 2 years ago
    Am I missing something? Haha.

Again I'm in South Georgia, NOBODY is wearing fleece and cowboy boots...Maybe ATL is in some some sort of fashion vortex...

    I'm with Phillip go hoodie.
  • Luke · 2 years ago
wear fleece!! I love fleece and it can be designer. Just convert to some designer snowboarding fleece and you'll be cool!
  • Brandy · 2 years ago
So, I love in Colorado. Where your boogers freeze when you breathe in through your nose. I've decided I can be fashionable once I'm inside a warm building. When I'm outside, trudging through some snow drifts, I couldn't care less about fashion. I just need to not die.
  • Brandy · 2 years ago
And, that was suppose dto say "live" not "love" in Colorado. Whatever. I guess both are accurate :)
  • Ed · 2 years ago
Go here > http://mybedazzler.com/ and get you one of these and bling that fleece out!
  • Bill · 2 years ago
Nothing wrong with a good fleece.
  • drummerchris · 2 years ago
Imagine a cheesy Billy Crystal voice..........

"It's better to look good than to feel good"

How bout a sweet pure white everlast track suit ala Al Davis the raiders owner................=[
  • erin · 2 years ago
tell them to turn up the stinkin heat around here and no of us would have to wear fleece...i would give anything for a fleece right now...at my desk typing with numb fingers :)
  • Isaac Downing · 2 years ago
    Beauty is PAIN.

    Step away from the fleece!
  • mamasgotmoxie · 2 years ago
i say wear anything that's warm!!!
  • Dustin · 2 years ago
Go fashion. I live in Alaska, and 36 is nothing. Trust me.
  • Isaac Downing · 2 years ago
Seriously. If you freeze to death, you'll want to die with some dignity.
  • ryan fitzgerald · 2 years ago
dude, no fleece, just go to the diesel store at lenox and buy a jacket...
  • Adam S · 2 years ago
I never understood this. I would have friends from the south come visit me in Chicago and they would claim fashion and freeze to death. What kind of idiocy is that? When it is cold you wear enough to not be cold. This is so an example of having too much.
  • rob reed · 2 years ago
Always comfort before coolness. Fleece definitely over fashion.
  • Dan · 2 years ago
You don't need fleece. Take it from a dude who came to Atlanta by way of blustery Chicago: it's all about layering (I say, as I sit here in a fleece -- dang!)
  • steadyrock · 2 years ago
I've never been to the ATL, but growing up in Idaho I know that fleece won't do you jack when it gets really cold anyway (agreed, 36 is nothing...wait until the highs barely bust into the double digits if they do at all). The slightest breeze cuts through it like lace. Plenty of ways to stay warm without rocking the fleece. Seriously. Undo the fleece. A button-up corduroy over a zippered hoodie with a knit beanie will do you so much better, and you won't look like...well, like you do in fleece.
  • Jason Curlee · 2 years ago
bro...no cowboy please...I see enough here in south texas...although you could probably pull it off and just be fashionable...

    your call
  • Jamie · 2 years ago
I have a vested interest in this question, being that come January 1, THIS California girl will be moving to MINNESOTA. I don't even OWN a jacket. Oy. You think ATLANTA is cold????? Add a NEGATIVE to that 30 degrees and feel your face fall off.
  • Bill A · 2 years ago
NO cool person would EVER wear fleece. No one with multiple tats should ever wear fleece.

    Think of it this way....

Friends don't let friends wear fleece.

You want fashion. One word. Leather. Get a nice leather jacket. You'll be cool. You'll be warm. It's really quite simple.

If leather is not working. At least get a nice denim jacket. Have some respect. LOL....
  • john in colorado · 2 years ago
no fleece. 36 is warm. get used to it.
  • Carmen Whittaker · 2 years ago
FLEECE, GLOVES, SCARF AND DON'T FORGET YOUR HEAD!!! LOVE YOU BABE, MOM : )
  • Doug · 2 years ago
First of all, 36 degrees! Toughen up buttercup!!!!

Secondly, wear something to keep warm. How cool you gonna be when you're upper lip is crusted with snot during a staff meeting because you were too cool to stay warm!! Then the evil death cold that you caught because you were too cool to stay warm runs through your arts team, and you're having to sub out musicians and vocalists, because your snotty upper lip got all snotty just because you were too cool to stay warm passed the cooties around to all of them.

But that's just me. I wear khakis and golf shirts......

..... and on my second week of antibiotics.
  • Zach · 2 years ago
Okay so I am a little late to throw down with this. But man, you can wear longsleeve warm stuff and still look pretty freakin sick. Check Express Men or something. I am from Portland wear fashion meets function,i t can happen.
  • Trip · 2 years ago
los, you can be warm, and fashionable. we ATLiens have survived our bitter cold winters for millions of years now(we arent bred for cold, so 40 is freezing and school gets cancelled). Just find cool lookin thermals to wear under your tshirts, and hoodies to wear over them.
  • azuspeak · 2 years ago
Give in to the fleece! I'm from NY/NJ where rivers freeze over--but even though ATL isn't that cold, I'm still all about the fleece. Why? Because it works.

See what you gotta do to make it cool is just pop ya' collar and make sure that you match. I think that's what makes people look hill billyish is when they wear fleece that doesn't match their outfit.

Layering and hoodies are another good and fashionable alternative...
  • Lemmings · 2 years ago
Layering and hoodie. Wait until February when your toes go numb - its not that it is cold, its that with the humidity the coldness wraps itself around you and you can't escape it.
  • Crystal Renaud · 2 years ago
long sleeve shirt... long underwear underneath.... and a scarf. you'll be fine.
  • Jon · 2 years ago
you're right man...the fleece is no good. They don't sell jackets or anything cool in GA?
  • bobby · 2 years ago
Maybe I'm just not nearly "cool" enough, but it really doesn't seem that deep.

Just let Andy know that you are so cool, you can wear a fleece and make it look a whole lot cooler than he can. Heck maybe you'll be a trendsetter. Throw up a couple of posts about how cool fleeces are and maybe people will start buying them in LA.

    Hey, ya never know.
  • Skyler Goodman · 2 years ago
I must say, I saw Andy the other day with what looked like a large arm piece of Paul's conversion....you two are freakishly similar!
  • Brandi · 2 years ago
Your comments are TLDR, so someone may have already asked this: Why is fleece the only option for warmth?
  • Brandi · 2 years ago
PS. The one comment that caught my eye was your mom's.

    I love your mom.
  • Nathan G · 2 years ago
First of all, I have to agree with one of the above posts that says "long underwear underneath" either a long sleeve tee or short sleeve tea.
But I think you are focusing on the wrong thing here, Los.

It isn't a question of fleece or no fleece. Because it is all about the jeans and shoes. If you are rockin' an awesome pair of jeans and killer shoes...what you wear from the waste up doesn't really matter. The jeans and shoes magically everything "cool".

But...if I had to choose, I would go with Long underwear with a T...and a scarf...plain scarf...not all striped out scarf...but what do I know...I live in South Florida.
  • Jenni K · 2 years ago
STEP AWAY FROM THE FLEECE... get warm quick so you can think straight - it's time to go to Urban Outfitters and stock up on hoodies, sweaters, track jackets and most definately one kick butt coat. Look at it this way - a whole new world of fashion just opened up to you and it's called "the long sleeve." and that's straight from chicago.
  • adam · 2 years ago
with a neck beard like that, what the heck does it matter?
  • Lita · 2 years ago
It depends....do you like having colds??? LISTEN TO YOUR MOM!!!
  • loswhit · 2 years ago
Ha. What is a neck beard?
    This is amazing.
  • steadyrock · 2 years ago
    Snap to it, man: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neckbeard#Neckbeard

    You're rockin' like Thoreau.
  • sully · 2 years ago
Yeah...Carmen has spoken. End of conversation. Better put that fleece on tomorrow morning, bro!
  • S. Pihlaja · 2 years ago
How is a fleece your only option? You need more options.
  • Jen · 2 years ago
Fleece! Of course! Better to be warm and not quite as fashionable than cold any day. I love my fleece. North Face is where it's at!
  • kathy · 2 years ago
This is a sad day indeed. Not even 2 months in Atlanta and you are turning into a fashion crisis.

You live next to a great mall, could the problem be you REALLY don't want to cover up the tats?

    I am afraid, really afraid.
  • Jon · 2 years ago
I just moved back to the midwest...
It's been cold. However.. I'll stick with the fashion.
  • Michelle Roberts · 2 years ago
try a soft shell. both columbia and northface make them. they're really warm and in my opinion much more stylish than a fleece. : )
  • Pete · 2 years ago
.....Goodwill...Hoodie... and if your still cold... get ya one of them down filled vests from the 80's with the steel buttons in the front. Start a revolution!
  • loswhit · 2 years ago
    You guys are amazing.
All I have to say is Urban Outfitters has saved the day.
    Stay tuned...
  • Adam F · 2 years ago
Don't do it. Step away from the fleece and everything will be ok.
  • truitt · 2 years ago
i liked the part where you said "I walked into Andy's office."
  • Dustin · 2 years ago
please don't start taking fashion tips from Andy.

    fleece's rock.
