Man..I haven't picked up a copy yet but I am looking forward to it. I listen for songs that are "usable" in a worship setting. Anyway, can't wait to check it out. How do you like Atlanta so far? You should visit "The Rocket City" (Huntsville, AL) and take your fam to the Rocket Center. Anyway, blessings.

    6. love the hymns, not growing up in the church they are kind of new to me and then the choruses they add make them more relevant.

Was also at the CD release party last night....it was indeed amazing. Don't look so hard for an epic album, but realize the meaning and need for these songs of hope, love and a cure for our hearts. It seems this was the their intent after going through the "A Collision" time, and dealing with all they went through as a church and community with their pastor and all that stuff. "A Collision" was absolutely an epic journey, making us think about death and our mortality...and this follow-up was to bring songs of praise and hope and to help us find our "Remedy".

    Man, that was too much....

But check out my blog for a cool pic from last night.

Of all the people, Los, I didn't expect you to be joining the crowd comparing Remedy to A Collision. My only criticism is that we only get 7 new songs really. I'm left wanting more!

The lack of what I believe you are calling 'epic'-ness (which I called over-the-top, early 70's Pink-Floyd references) is the very thing I find refreshing about this c.d. It's 'songs', instead of weirdness. Very refreshing

Actually the problem with the CD to me is that I feel like I have heard every one of these songs before.
One, because we have, on other CD's
Two, because they sound pretty simular to Illuminate.
But I am on listen 5 now and I understand the intent was not "epicness", but rather it was time to make another CD. And they did a good job. Luckily Crowder is one of, if not the best, song writer in Chrstian music today.
Right now I am really just repeating "Can You Feel It" That song makes me want to sprint.

ok my initial review: love it.

glory of it all. first heard this on the new passion and loved it then and still love it.

can you feel it. love it.

and am LOVING that they brought back "rain down" from their first album. especially since you can't their first album anymore.

o, for a thousand tongues to sing is pretty great too.

Track #2 ("Can You Feel It") is absolutely terrible! It sounds like something made by a teenager playing around with Acid (the loop-based software)!

"The Glory of it All" is amazing, as is "Never Let Go". "Everything Glorious" is nice but not life-changing. I haven't got past track #6 yet...

    OK.....WAAAAHHHHH!!!!!! I can't get it yet. Ya'll shut up talkin' about it.....please!!

It's ok..you can talk.....I still love Crowder....sometimes I think it's unhealthy....if I were a Worship Leader, it would be like second rate Crowder covers.......he's awesome.

Re: the photo with Jinx.....how can DC always look the dang same? will he ever trim the goatee? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?

Gotcha buddy! and I agree with you. One of the most anticipated CDs this year because of the songs already heard (on previous releases) and then if you've been to any Passion event or seen Crowder over the summer you've probably already heard "O, for a thousand..." and "Remedy" and the youtube clip of the guitar hero "Neverending" so it does already seem real familiar add to it the Illuminate feeling and yeah, I'm left wanting MORE!

After hearing the clips from the E-Card, I was cool with hearing this whenever. I wasn't blown away. And Crowder is different than the rest. That's why we like him. Even if we can't pull off all the mad production on a weekend, it's in the back of our heads when we're singing. And that is a very cool feeling. From what I've heard, sounds like they didn't do much of that this time around. I don't think this was the album to pull back on that. Especially when these songs are out there in various "straight" forms.

I saved my dough and bought the new Foo instead.

Starting my second listen, but I REALLY like "Glory of it All." My first impression is that it is a decent album, but doesn't rise to the level of "Illuminate." I don't have "A Collision," so can't compare that, but "Illuminate" is one of my favorite records.

I really love this CD for a completely different reason than I loved A Collision. Musically, "A Collision" blows anything DCB, let alone most other artist period, out of the water in my opinion. It's just so well done musically, and lyrically it's there too...probably their best CD yet.

This new CD though hits me in a different place. It's more worshipful to me in the simplicity of some of the progressions. Almost reminds me of the original David Crowder stuff on the UBC CD with the flower on it...the repetition of lyrics like "glory of it all" amongst others just takes me to a place where I almost forget about the music and simply worship. I'm a musician, so I struggle with hearing music first and worshiping second, whereas with this CD, I worship first. That's rare, so I appreciate it, although I do agree with Los that the musical elements don't feel completely brand new.

you gotta love the nintendo-esque sounds on "Can you feel it".
On listen #2.5 but I'd rank Crowder @
    1) A Collision
    2) Illuminate (also a Jam)
    3) is still up for grabs at this point.

you're right, it's not blow-me-away musically, but i listened to it all last week from New Release Tuesday, and the songwriting and lyrics and theme blew me away with something different each time i cranked it up.
