Two weekends ago, my family watched a 2 hour water polo match between Hungary and Montenegro. Seriously. That's sad. We were so enthralled.
I'm currently addicted to the diving. It is so pretty and yet scares the crap out of me at the same time.
Although it does bother me when the commentators build up the US athletes when in some events it's painfully obvious they are not as good as other competitors. Eventually they have to backtrack when the US doesn't do well. Just be honest folks. We'd cheer them on anyway.

the olympics will be the doom of my online class grade for sure. it's just impossible to write a paper on my philosophy of ministry when the men's volleyball team is so close to olympic gold. that would be totally unpatriotic, right? and i'm a patriot til the end.

Now brother, I can play some ping pong. I enjoy the sports where I don't have to move much :-). Unfortunately, Armed Forces Network, in Europe, doesn't think we need to see the Olympics and NBC online is blocked by anyone outside of the US. So, if there are any secret, underground, pirated DVDs, send me a copy.

Kat. I don't think there is such thing as "lame gold medals". The only lame ones I've ever seen are the ones Pam made out of yogurt lead (from The Office, in case you missed the joke... which was kinda lame in itself :0)
Anyway, China developed a program for the last 4 years to dominate the 'forgotten' sports... and to recruit underage gymnasts. hahaha another lame joke. As a host country I think they’re smart.
THE REAL PROBLEM IS WHEN YOUR COUNTRY (ACTUALLY, MINE) IS BEHIND BORAT'S KAZAKHSTAN IN EITHER WAY YOU CHOOSE TO COUNT THOSE DARN MEDALS!!! HAHAHAHAHA

Yeah, my wife is hating the Olympics right now because I record them all day and get caught up when I get home. USA won gold in Beach Volleyball!!! Those guys were awesome. I think if beach volleyball became a sport like baseball and basketball tons of people would watch it. It has all the energy of a sport like basketball and the arena goes crazy. So yeah, I never watch this much sports. I am starting to feel like a real man. I think I need to go work on my car now or go get grime under my finger nails. :)

The ping pongers are sick! I thought I was Forest Gump until seeing these ballers. If I had put as much energy at church as a kid and in bible college, like I did with ping pong, I'd be compared to Paul. Step up to my table anytime.

I think there have been alot of people (East Coast and myself included) that have been losing a lot of sleep watching the olympics!! Who's idea was it to have a host city be EXACTLY 12 hours ahead of us??? urgh!! At least London 2012 is only a 4 hour time difference.

It's amazing how many sports are in the Olympics that one can play in the rec room or in the backyard. Nowhere nearly as good, but you can play them! And here I am, unable to afford the membership fee to the local city rec center.
